Legal definition for licensing – Property Guard

The role of a Concierge Security Officer is to receive and provide direction to visitors or guests at a site or location in a manner that maintains their safety and security.

The role of a VIP Security Officer is to maintain the safety and security of an individual or identified group of people.

Duties
  • To be clearly visible
  • To be vigilant
  • To respond quickly and correctly during a crisis
  • Observing and reporting
  • Getting help
  • Providing guidance and direction to visitors and guests
  • Ensuring the site or location provides a safe and secure venue
  • Ensure non authorised persons are not given entry or access to VIP’s.
Role Requirements
  • Must be 18+ years old
  • Must be able to work irregular hours (24 x 7 industry)
  • Must be confident and capable of working alone
  • Must have reasonable fitness
  • Must have a clean criminal record
  • Requirement to hold a NZ Drivers Licence
  • Must have good written and spoken English
  • Requirement to complete mandatory training requirements to obtain Certificate of Approval to work in industry (3-month window to complete)

Industry Training
  • Mandatory Training (Unit Standards 27360, 27361 and 27364)
  • NZCiS Level 3 (New Zealand Certificate in Security)
  • NZCiS Level 4 (New Zealand Certificate in Security)
Indicative Pay Scales
  • Entry level – mid $20’s per hour
  • Mid-level – $28 to $30 per hour
  • High level – $30 to $35 per hour
